The RCMP said in a news release that in February, members of the RCMP’s Provincial Crime Reduction Unit began an investigation into the trafficking of illegal drugs in the southeast region of New Brunswick. On April 10, police executed search warrants at locations on Bon Secours Road in Saint-Paul and Enviro Drive in Moncton.

During the searches, police seized significant quantities of what are believed to be cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, fentanyl, methamphetamine pills, hydromorphone pills, and oxycodone pills. Police also seized nearly 30,000 contraband cigarettes, three firearms, drug-trafficking paraphernalia, and money. Police also recovered a number of stolen items related to other files, including a side-by-side, two utility trailers, license plates and e-bikes.

A woman and three men were arrested in connection with the investigation.

On April 11, Chantal Cote, 49, appeared in Moncton provincial court and was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine. She was remanded into custody until she has a bail hearing.

On April 11, Jesse James Wallace, 33, appeared in court and was charged with possession of a restricted weapon. He was also remanded into custody for a future court appearance.

A 41-year-old man was turned over to the Halifax Regional Police due to having outstanding warrants in that jurisdiction and a 62-year-old man was released from custody.
